Abstract

This study aims to determine the influence of leadership behavior and work discipline on employee performance at the Public Works and Public Housing Office (PUPR) of Jambi Province. The background of this research is based on the importance of leadership and discipline in enhancing employee performance in government environments. This research employs a quantitative descriptive method. Data were collected through the distribution of questionnaires online using Google Forms. The sampling technique used was simple random sampling. The number of respondents was determined based on the Krejcie & Morgan Table, resulting in a total of 260 respondents. Data processing and analysis were conducted using SPSS version 26. The results of the study show that: (1) Partially, leadership behavior has a positive and significant effect on employee performance, with a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05 and a t-value of 10.133 > t-table 1.969. (2) Work discipline also has a positive and significant effect on employee performance, with a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05 and a t-value of 6.099 > t-table 1.969. (3) Simultaneously, leadership behavior and work discipline have a significant effect on employee performance, with an F-value of 560.376 > F-table 3.03 and a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05. Therefore, it can be concluded that improving effective leadership behavior and implementing good work discipline, both individually and collectively, can enhance employee performance at the PUPR Office of Jambi Province.
